Frequently asked questions
Can I edit the video after I've paid?
No, payment locks the project and starts creating the final video. This is why we encourage you to preview carefully before paying. The 10-day window before payment exists so you have plenty of time to get everything right.
What if I run out of time before the 10-day download window expires?
Email us at andrew@mixtapememories.app or call us on +61 420 124 262 and we'll do our best to assist. We understand that creating a memorial video during bereavement is emotionally demanding and timelines can slip.
Can I come back and continue editing later?
Yes. Your project is saved automatically after every step. You can close the browser, sign back in from any device, and pick up exactly where you left off, as long as you haven't paid yet.
Do I need to sign up to start?
You can begin as a guest (no account needed) to explore the editor. To save your project for longer than a browser session, create a free account. It only takes a minute.
What photo formats are supported?
JPEG (.jpg / .jpeg) and PNG (.png). Maximum 20 MB per photo. Up to 50 photos per project.
How do I download a song from iTunes (Apple Music purchases)?
Works for songs you have purchased from the iTunes Store. Apple Music streaming tracks are DRM-protected and cannot be exported. Open iTunes (Windows) or the Music app (Mac), go to Edit → Preferences → Files (Windows) or Music → Settings → Files (Mac), and under Import Settings choose MP3 Encoder. In your library, right-click the song and choose "Create MP3 Version", then right-click the new MP3 and choose "Show in Finder" or "Show in Windows Explorer" to find the file. Upload that file when you reach the music step in Still Frames.
How do I download a song from Amazon Music (MP3 Store)?
Works for songs purchased from the Amazon MP3 Store. Amazon Music Unlimited streaming tracks cannot be downloaded as files. Go to music.amazon.com and sign in to your account, click My Music in the left sidebar, find the song and click the three-dot menu, then choose Download. Upload that file when you reach the music step in Still Frames.
Can I use Spotify or YouTube Music tracks?
No. These tracks are protected by DRM and cannot be downloaded as files for upload. You will need to use a track from our royalty-free library, or upload a file you hold the appropriate licence for. Please ensure you have the right to use any music you upload: personal copies of purchased music are licensed for personal use only and do not cover incorporation into a video product. When in doubt, use our royalty-free library.
What music formats can I upload?
MP3, WAV and AAC up to 50 MB. If your file is larger, compressing it to a lower bitrate (e.g. 128 kbps MP3) will reduce the size without noticeable quality loss.
What video quality will I receive?
Full HD 1080p (1920 × 1080), delivered as an MP4 file using the H.264 codec. This is a standard Full-HD MP4, compatible with most modern phones, computers and smart TVs.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe, we never see or store your card details. Stripe is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the highest standard for payment security.
Are my photos stored securely?
Your photos are uploaded to encrypted cloud storage and are never shared. They are automatically deleted 10 days after your project closes.
